Glorifying God through my pursuit of a medical career.
Discernment is not simply a matter of telling the difference between what is right and wrong; rather it is the difference between right and almost right.
He that deserves nothing should be content with anything.
To go to heaven, fully to enjoy God, is infinitely better than the most pleasant accommodations here.
Resolved, to live with all my might, while I do live.
Resolved, never to lose one moment of time; but improve it the most profitable way I possibly can.

Midblock, Di Fara's, 1040

Comments
So I finally took my musculoskeletal midblock exam on Friday! It was actually a little kind of a mess since some required pictures on some of the questions weren't showing up (our tests are computerized mutiple choice questions, kind of like doing the MCAT). Twenty questions into the test I was told that I needed to restart. Anyways, after the initial problems, everything else went smooth after that!

I went out with some good friends to try out Di Fara's pizza too on Friday night as a treat for studying hard and finishing our midblock exam! It was a small cozy restaurant with walls plastered with "Best Pizza in New York, 200-" awards. There were actually a lot of customers there ready to wait ~30-40 minutes for a $4 slice! We personally waited for about 40 min. It was good pizza! Very thin and crunchy crust but not burnt (minus one edge)flavorful with plenty of cheese, topped with lots of fresh basil and extra-virgin olive oil. I actually prefer it over Grimaldi's, but they are very close!

Preceptorship will be starting next week, which is when the first year medical students get sent to different doctors who have agreed to take on one or two students into their clinics.  There, each of us will get to develop and practice doctor-patient communication. We'll need to take patient histories and occasionally measure and record vitals. I'm sure there will be very little things to do in terms of science and medicine, but it'll definitely be a good environment for me to build up my skills in terms of talking effectively to a wide range of people! I got assigned to a doctor specialized in infectious diseases, so we'll see how that goes!

I went with a friend to see the screening for the movie 1040 earlier this evening. The screening was led by Jaeson Ma, whom was featured in 1040. The movie focuses on the development of churches and different Christian movements in different Asian countries in the 10/40 window, which is basically the region from 10 degrees north of the equator to 40 degrees north of the equator. It took me a little while to gather my thoughts after the screening, because I felt like the gospel was preached, yet many things unbiblical were also supported.  Coming across situations like this has actually been part of a bigger challenge/struggle for me in general after starting medical school here in New York, and so I'll do a comprehensive post on this eventually. (Sorry, there's are so many things I want to write about, but sometimes it's so hard to find a large chunk of time and type it all up! Just like I still haven't updated my previous post...)

Anyways, I just wanted to post and update to show that I didn't suddenly ditch the blog despite having finished an exam and having a little free time. I did work a little on improving the look of the blog! so I hope you guys approve of the changes/additions =)
